Roofing Care & Maintenance

A home is likely to be the most expensive investment in your lifetime. Upkeep is important to keep that value and security. With proper care and maintenance, your fire retardant cedar roof will continue to look good and last for years.

The most important part of maintenance is to keep the roof clean. Never allow anything to accumulate on the roof such as leaves, pine needles, cedar seeds, tree branches or other debris. Keep the roof free of debris by low pressure washing with a garden hose or sweeping.

Regardless of the material on your roof, it should be inspected on a regular basis. It's also a good idea to check the attic and look for concealed leaks, water stains or water-damaged insulation. In most cases as long as your cedar roof continues to repel water, it most likely does not require immediate replacement.
