SaferWood: A natural defense against nature's wrath
For many parts of the world, extreme high winds are a common occurrence, and can mean devastating results if your roof cannot retain its structural integrity.
A seven-page document, issued in 1996 by the Dade County Florida Building Code Compliance Office, outlined procedures and test results for Wind and Wind-Driven Rain Resistance of Discontinuous Roof Systems.
Conclusions: The "Certi-Split" roof system endured the PA-100 test method for the full test duration without loss of any shakes or any shakes blowing upward without reseating. Also, no water infiltrated through the sheathing, and the test sample remained in sound, structural condition throughout and after testing.
